Our Church

About BBC

Bible Baptist Church is an Independent, Fundamental, Bible-Believing, Baptist Church. We believe in the absolute authority of the Scriptures as preserved in the King James Bible, that Jesus Christ is all-sufficient for salvation, that He has left us here as the Body of Christ to carry out his command to Go and preach the Gospel, and that He is coming again to take us to heaven some sweet day!

We have not embraced the modernism and liberalism of many contemporary and "woke" churches of our day. BBC continues to embrace an historically baptistic manner of worship with the hymns, Bible preaching and invitations! We do not define ourselves as EMERGENT, PROGRESSIVE or even TRADITIONAL, but rather we endeavor to be BIBLICAL.

In 1948, under the leadership of Pastor Paul Gillette, a group of people began meeting every summer, holding tent revival meetings behind an old gas station in downtown Central Lake. It was through these tent meetings in the summers of 1948 and 1949, that God raised up the Bible Baptist Church of Central Lake.  The Church officially formed in 1950 and began meeting in first a garage and then a house. In 1964 the new church building was built at the location we have been ever since. There have been many updates, changes and additions since then, but, BBC has remained faithful to the old-time gospel and remained dedicated to the great task of reaching our community for Christ! We have continued to remain true to our roots and each year BBC holds tent revival meetings that begin with a community-wide 4th of July celebration. Our folks enjoy being in the town parade, and giving away free hot dogs, popcorn, bottled water, and snacks. Oh yes, and of-course, the good news of Jesus Christ!

It is our desire to serve you and your family. In these difficult days, we want to be a bright beacon of hope to all who pass by our way. If you are seeking a church home, please consider coming HOME to Bible Baptist Church. You will find the wonderful people of BBC will reach out to you with Christ-like love and care.

If we can do anything to be a help or blessing to you, if it is in our power to do it, we will!
